Black American Freedmen in California are closer to Reparations than we've ever been.
Support the first and only state-wide organization born to achieve Reparations and Reparative Justice for Black American Freedmen living in California: The Coalition for a Just and Equitable California (CJEC). We're a grassroots, California-based Coalition of everyday people volunteering to organize, advocate, and mobilize the People for Reparations in California.
With the support of community members like you, we helped write and enact California's first-in-the-nation Reparations Task Force, as well as California's first-in-the-nation law requiring our state to recognize descendants of U.S Chattel Slavery as the unique and specific group of people we are. With the support of community members like you, we've held over 25 California Reparations community meetings, listening and information sessions, and canvassing events since 2021. And, with the support of community members like you, we were proud to be selected by the California Reparations Task Force as an official Community Anchor Organization in 2022.
We, CJEC, were born for Reparations. And we're just getting started. Donate today!
